What is thyroid radiofrequency ablation (RFA)? It's a non-surgical treatment for thyroid nodules.
Radiofrequency Ablation, also known as RFA, is a minimally invasive option to treat thyroid nodules. RFA uses radiofrequency waves to heat up thyroid nodules. Guided by ultrasound imaging, doctors can precisely deliver radiofrequency waves to the targeted tissue. Procedures are conducted in an outpatient setting using either local anesthetics or conscious sedation anesthesia. The treatment is a quick, non-surgical outpatient option that enables patients to resume normal daily activity almost immediately after.
We at ENT Specialists, Inc. are proud to be the first to offer RFA of Thyroid nodules in the Greater Boston Area.
