About Us
60 Years of World Class Ear, Nose and Throat Care
In a medical landscape where independent practices have been bought, merged, and absorbed by the hundreds — one group has quietly held its ground. For nearly sixty years, ENT Specialists, Inc. has served the people of Southeastern Massachusetts. Not as part of a hospital system. Not backed by private equity. But as a physician-run practice, answering only to its patients. It began in 1966, in Dedham, Massachusetts. A group of surgeons — all trained at Boston's most prestigious teaching institutions — set out to bring university-level ear, nose, and throat care to the communities south of the city.
ENT Specialists, Inc. - A History
They incorporated in 1970. By the 1980s, the practice had grown and moved its headquarters to the Guild Medical Building in Norwood — a home it would hold for decades. But the vision never changed. That patients in Southeastern Massachusetts deserved the same caliber of care as anyone walking into a Boston medical center. They built that care — one patient, one family at a time. Through the 1980s and into the 2000s, the practice grew — deliberately, and close to home. New offices in Brockton, Taunton, Plainville and Dedham to serve patients across all of Southeastern Massachusetts. Affiliations with Norwood Hospital, Brockton Hospital, Good Samaritan, Sturdy Memorial, Morton Hospital, and Beth Israel Deaconess Needham. But growth alone wasn't the goal.

In 1995, ENT Specialists became a full-time clinical training site for the Tufts Medical Center Otolaryngology Residency Program. ENT Specialist's surgeons shaping the next generation of specialists. A relationship that continues to this day.
Staying independent never meant standing still. ENT Specialists has consistently been first in the region to bring the most advanced treatments directly to their patients — eliminating the need to travel to Boston for care. ENT Specialists is among the first in Massachusetts to offer radiofrequency ablation for thyroid nodules. Dr. Jagdish Dhingra alone has performed over 4,000 ultrasound-guided procedures on the thyroid gland. We were early adopters of the RhinAer procedure for chronic rhinitis. And the first practice in their region to implant the Inspire upper airway stimulation device — a breakthrough therapy for sleep apnea that has transformed lives.
Cutting Edge , Close to home- That's always been the standard. But, perhaps what defines ENT Specialists most — is what they do when no one is watching. Our practice has always understood something simple: the mission doesn't stop at the Massachusetts border. Our Doctors and Team Members have traveled to Gitwe, Rwanda — fifteen times over seventeen years — with Dr. Dhingra personally performing over three hundred surgeries. Our team performed thyroid surgeries on patients suffering from large goiters in one of the world's most under-resourced communities. Dr. Russell Shu and Dr. Pratik Pradhan have traveled to China and the Philippines, performing cleft lip and palate surgeries on children who would otherwise go without. And it was a former ENT Specialists surgeon — Dr. Denny Snyder — who in 1991 founded Medical Missions for Children. Since then, MMFC has launched 450 missions worldwide ,providing free surgical care to over 40,000 children in locations including Rwanda, Cambodia, India, Guatemala, Ukraine, Madagascar, and beyond.
And now in January 2026, ENT Specialists returned to where it all began — Dedham, Massachusetts. A new facility, A new chapter. And the same mission. Sixty years of caring for families across Southeastern Massachusetts. Six decades of bringing the best medicine in the world — with affiliations to some of the finest institutions in the world. right here, in your community. ENT Specialists A legacy of Excellence. Since 1966 and Still Going...
