Our History
ENT Specialists, Inc. was founded in 1966 in Dedham and incorporated in 1970 — making it the oldest private ENT practice in New England. From the beginning, the mission was simple: bring expert, university-caliber otolaryngology care to the communities of Southeastern Massachusetts.
We built this practice not as part of a hospital system, and not backed by private equity — but as a physician-run practice, answering only to its patients. That independence lets our doctors make decisions based on what's right for you, not a corporate balance sheet — and it means most new patients are seen within days, not the six-to-eight-month wait common when referred to the large Boston hospital systems.
Over the decades we grew to four convenient offices— Brockton, Dedham, Plainville, and Taunton — and today are one of the region's largest independent otolaryngology groups, with board-certified physicians, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and dedicated clinical staff. As early adopters of innovations like radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for thyroid nodules, RhinAer and Vivaer for nasal obstruction, and the Inspire implant for sleep apnea, we combine the personal attention of a community practice with the advanced technology of an academic medical center.

Tufts Residency Affiliation
Since 1995, ENT Specialists, Inc. has served as a full-time clinical training site for the Tufts Medical Center Otolaryngology Residency Program. This academic affiliation ensures that our physicians remain at the forefront of medical knowledge and surgical innovation.
Our physicians mentor the next generation of ENT surgeons, supervise residents in clinic and the operating room, and participate in grand rounds and journal clubs. This teaching commitment elevates the standard of care for every patient we see.
Clinical training partner with Tufts University
Global Missions
Giving back is part of who we are. Our physicians volunteer their surgical skills on humanitarian missions, bringing ENT care to underserved communities around the world.
Rwanda
Dr. Jagdish Dhingra has led 15 surgical missions to Rwanda over 17 years, performing more than 300 goiter and thyroid surgeries for patients who would otherwise have no access to this care.
China & the Philippines
Drs. Russell Shu and Pratik Pradhan travel regularly to China and the Philippines for cleft lip and palate surgical missions, restoring smiles and function for children in need.
A Legacy of Service
Our tradition of global service runs deep — former partner Dr. Denny Snyder founded Medical Missions for Children in 1991, a commitment to humanitarian care that continues across our practice today.
