Jagdish Dhingra

Dr. Jagdish Dhingra has been in practice at ENT Specialists, Inc. for over 20 years. After completing his initial medical training in his native India, he worked for six years in Great Britain before moving to the United States. He completed his residency training at Tufts Medical Center in Boston before joining ENT Specialists in 2002. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh and England).

A nationally recognized authority on thyroid ultrasound, Dr. Dhingra has performed thousands of office-based, ultrasound-guided thyroid procedures and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and presented over 30 abstracts on thyroid and head-and-neck disease. He holds Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) and AIUM certification, and in 2026 earned the Adult Complex Thyroid & Parathyroid Surgery (ACTPS) Focused Practice Designation awarded by the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Dhingra was among the first physicians in New England to bring radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of benign thyroid nodules into the office setting — a minimally invasive, incision-free alternative to surgery that shrinks symptomatic nodules while preserving normal thyroid function. He performs one of the highest volumes of thyroid RFA in New England and offers the procedure at the practice's Plainville office. An active teacher of thyroid ultrasound, he serves as course director for the annual hands-on ultrasound training for Boston University–Tufts residents and as faculty for national head-and-neck and endocrine surgery courses, and is a frequent invited speaker at NEOS, the Massachusetts Society of Otolaryngology, and the BU–Tufts alumni day.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Dhingra led 20 annual surgical missions to Rwanda between 2004 and 2024, performing more than 500 complex goiter surgeries for patients in need.
